For over three-quarters of a century, Longyear Museum has served the public, providing exhibits and resources about the life and achievements of Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, and her early students.
The Museum moved into its new building in Chestnut Hill, MA in 1999. Permanent exhibits on Mrs. Eddy, her family and students are now open.
"Mary Baker Eddy: A Spiritual Journey," a major new exhibit includes selections from Longyear Museum's collection of photographs, letters and artifacts along with interactive learning stations and media presentations to tell the story of her unique spiritual journey from rural beginnings to the world stage where she delivered messages which brought healing and regeneration to thousands. The exhibit traces her life-long study and love of the Bible, her work writing Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and her founding of the Church of Christ, Scientist.
