CREATE and CELEBRATE ART through outstanding exhibitions, educational programming and outreach at the Danforth Museum of Art. See more than 25 exhibitions each year in a series of changing shows. Focusing on American Art from the 18th century to present day, the Museum is dedicated to showing the very best examples of contemporary art by both emerging and established artists, as well as an exploration of the School of Boston Expressionism. Our compelling exhibitions and permanent collection of over 3,500 works of art offer countless opportunities for all ages to explore a range of media and artistic forms of expression from the traditional to installation and new media.
CREATE art in the Danforth Museum School in one of the 400 studio art classes offered each year. Ask about our school vacation, summer and guest artist workshops. Taught by professional artists, classes at all levels offer the opportunity to learn and to create.
CELEBRATE creativity through public programs and special events, such as Drop into Art, artist receptions, lectures, gallery talks, tours and more!
The Museum is located 20 miles west of Boston in downtown Framingham and is accessible via the MBTA Worcester/Framingham Line. This train departs from South Station.
